How to Get Smooth Skin on Your Body: A Simple 5-Step Routine

Using an exfoliating pad for smooth skin

Smooth skin on your body doesn't need a spa. It comes from a few simple habits done consistently. Here's a routine that works for most skin types.

Why body skin gets rough

Body skin renews itself slowly. Dead cells build up, especially on legs, arms, knees and elbows, which leaves skin feeling rough and looking dull. Shaving, hot showers, dry air and tight clothing add to it.

Step 1: Cleanse gently

Use lukewarm water, not hot. Choose a cleanser that doesn't leave skin tight. A turmeric and kojic acid bar like the Glow Bar cleanses while adding brightening ingredients.

Step 2: Exfoliate, but not every day everywhere

Exfoliation is the biggest shortcut to smooth skin. Use pads on rough spots like elbows, knees and the backs of arms. Use a scrub mitt or gentle scrub on legs 1–2 times a week. Over-exfoliating causes redness and dryness, so less is more.

Step 3: Treat while skin is damp

Right after the shower, mist and apply a serum. Damp skin absorbs products better. The Glow Mist plus a few drops of Glow Serum takes about 30 seconds.

Step 4: Moisturize

Seal everything in with a body lotion or oil. Look for glycerin, ceramides, shea butter or squalane.

Step 5: Protect

Use SPF 30+ on any skin that sees the sun. UV exposure makes rough texture and dark spots more noticeable.

Weekly bonus: a mask night

2–3 nights a week, use a body-safe mask on areas that need extra care. The Overnight Glow Mask goes on at night and peels off in the morning.

Smooth skin habits that help

  • Shave with a sharp razor and shaving gel, in the direction of hair growth.
  • Shorter, cooler showers.
  • Breathable cotton clothing.
  • Drink water and run a humidifier in dry months.
