Do Peel-Off Masks Work? How to Use an Overnight Peel-Off Mask the Right Way

Peeling off the Overnight Glow Mask

Peel-off masks are some of the most satisfying products in skincare. But are they worth it?

What a peel-off mask does

As the mask dries, it forms a film. When you peel it away, it lifts loose dead skin and surface buildup, leaving skin feeling smoother. Masks with active ingredients like turmeric and kojic acid also give those ingredients extended contact time.

What it doesn't do

Peel-off masks don't "pull out" deep pore clogs or toxins, and they won't erase dark spots overnight. Think of them as a weekly booster, not a treatment on their own.

How to use an overnight peel-off mask

  1. Cleanse and dry skin completely.
  2. Brush on a thin, even layer. Thick layers take forever to dry.
  3. Avoid eyebrows, hairline, eyes and lips.
  4. Let it dry fully, then leave it on overnight if it's an overnight formula.
  5. Peel gently from the edges in the morning. Don't rip.
  6. Rinse off any residue and moisturize.

How often?

2–3 times a week is plenty. Skip mask nights after shaving or using exfoliating pads.

Best areas for body masking

  • Knees and elbows
  • Back of the neck
  • Chest (avoid nipples)
  • Face, if the formula is face-safe

The Solari Overnight Glow Mask is a turmeric and kojic acid peel-off mask with a brush for even application. It's step 5 of the Glow Ritual Set.
