Hyperpigmentation means patches of skin that look darker than the area around them. On the body it's very common, and there are a few different types.
Types of body hyperpigmentation
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH): dark marks left after blemishes, bug bites, shaving bumps or scratches.
- Sun spots: flat brown spots on shoulders, arms and chest.
- Friction darkening: underarms, inner thighs, knees and elbows.
- Melasma: usually facial and hormone-related. See a dermatologist.
Ingredients that help
| Ingredient | What it does |
|---|---|
| Kojic acid | Helps improve the look of dark spots by targeting excess pigment |
| Turmeric | Antioxidant support for a calm, radiant look |
| Vitamin C | Brightens and protects against environmental stress |
| Niacinamide | Evens tone and supports the skin barrier |
| AHAs / BHAs | Exfoliate so pigmented cells shed faster |
| Retinol | Speeds up cell turnover |
How to build a routine
- Cleanse gently every day.
- Exfoliate a few times a week.
- Apply a brightening serum daily.
- Wear SPF. Without sun protection, spots keep coming back.
The Solari Glow Ritual combines kojic acid, turmeric and vitamin C across cleanser, pads, mist, serum and mask.
How long does it take?
Pigment fades slowly. Expect 6–12 weeks for a visible difference. Results vary.
